View Full Version : Is Tice a good teacher?

While I feel Tice is good in the draft I do feel as a teacher and leader on the field he is just plain lacking. I also say that Catrell looks like he wants to lead this team. So my biggest question will be can the front office keep a cap on this or will we see a change in coaching either in midseason or at the end of next season?

I really think tice would be a good college coach.

I like Tice.

This is his year to shine, or his last year as a head coach.

I also like Mikey, but this is it. He either has a good year and advances to the second-round or NFC Championship (and no 8-8 second round, if we lose before NFC title game we best still have 11 or 12 wins) or he is gone.

I've also been wondering how ol' Tice is going to do with no Randy Moss to deal with and all the changes that have been made...as much as I like Tice as a person and an assistant coach...from what I've seen...he's no head coach. I think he's too much of a gambler at the wrong time...too much player in him still. As well, I think we had way, way, way too many penalties on both sides of the ball. That to me is a coaching responsibility. If we do well this year, I think it'll be more due to our offense working well without all the injuries we had...and the defense playing what should be a more consistent game. To be honest, I think Tice will get the boot after this season.

if tice has a good year, he'll stay....if he has a bad year he'll be gone.

Tice...Quite the Teacher (with apologies to Van Halen)

Spoken:
"Oh wow, man !"
"Wait a second man. Whaddaya think the coach is gonna perform like this year ?"
"My butt, man !"

Sung:
C-c-coach just stop that screaming, hey coach don't you see ?
We have the playoffs as our goal
Maybe we should practice harder, cause we aren't gettin' better,
Coach we want to win the Super Bowl.

Chorus:
I think of all the easy catches that I missed.
But then my college games were never quite like this.
He's not so bad, not so bad, not so bad,
Tice...Quite the teacher.
He's not so bad, not bad,
Tice...Quite the teacher.

Spoken:
"Hey, I heard you missed us, we're back !"
"I brought your pencil"
"Gimme a play to score on, coach"

Sung:
I heard about your coaching, but playbooks are so cold...
I know about this game.
Big bad end from playing days, but that was so long ago...
Why is the playcalling so lame ?

Chorus

(guitar solo)

Spoken:
"Oh man, I think the clock is slow"
"I don't think we called the right play"
"Elling just missed"

I like Tice...just not as HC. I don't think he was ready for it, but got pushed into the job with Denny being fired, and "BJ" McCombover being too cheap to hire a qualified candidate.

I wish he was still the O-line coach...

He's a kick-a$$ o-line coach there's no doubt about that, as a head coach? Not sure, give him one more year, and if he doesn't pull it off than bye-bye.

Tice is great a developing OL but I think he lacks some coaching ability in other places
