No. No it's not.

Last I saw, it was not really a requirement for inside lineman to be fast was it?

Newman ran a sub 4.4 at his combine.

Brian Robison is faster than JJ Watt.

Robert Blanton is faster than Kam Chancellor.

Harrison Smith is faster than Robert Blanton.

Shariff Floyd is faster than Ndamukong Suh.

Linval Joseph is faster than Vince Wilfork.

Chad Greenway is about the same speed at Luke Kuechly.

Seems pretty legit on speed to me.

Interesting fact-based post.

Speed is relative. Knowing where to run is as important as being able to run fast. Running fast to the wrong spot accomplishes nothing. I think our defense is aggressive and multiple guys get to the ball and that's more important than outright speed. I'm not discounting speed as an asset, but I think our defense is fast enough to get the job done. We are 6th in the league right now in points allowed, which is more important than total yardage in my book. Hopefully that PPG stat even improves against KC. Alex Smith shouldn't scare us and they lost their best RB.
