@AdamSchefter
Texans owner Bob McNair said Houston is willing to trade No. 1 overall pick so it can land another QB and a defensive player as well.

Vikings must make the move at all cost - like the Redskins did for RG3....

If we were #2 pick then maybe but the cost to go from #8 to #1 will too much, especially as we have more than one position of need. So to answer no we can't make the move at all cost.

the way i see it is nothing matters until we have a QB

The value for Round 1 pick 1 is 3,000.

We're sitting at pick 8, with 1,400.

I can't find a list of all of our 2014 draft slots.. but..

To make this trade worthwhile for the Texans.. we would need to give them our 8th pick, and likely our 2nd (which would be worth about 500) and our 3rd, as well as a player or two.

Unfortunately, not worth it.

I'm not sure how to get it done but at some point this franchise needs to figure out how to get a real QB. Get er done.

I agree with PJ, I don't think the cost is worth the move. This is further highlighted by the fact that we have NO idea who will be developing this future star/bust.

I think we're going to have to sit at 8 and pray that a gem hits us in the head. There are too many teams ahead of us that need QB help.

i agree, we can't afford to trade up. if one of the top qb prospects is still on the board at eight, draft him, if not, go with the best value pick and take a qb prospect with a lower round selection.

Hell no. There are so many holes on this team to fill and so many guys we need to keep under contract that there is absolutely no sense in trading what we need to move up in the draft and take a QB who may not be any better in the end than the 8th QB that will be drafted on day 2.

Who is this can't miss prospect you want to trade up to get?

The Vikings can't compete with teams like the Browns who I believe have the fourth overall pick and, the Colts first round pick from the Richardson trade, when it comes to moving up the board.
It is said, the Browns covet Manzel. I would like to see the Vikings try to get Hoyer from them. He's worth a second round pick if his knee rehab is going well.
