Shooter Now: Vikings rookie Christian Ponder reminds former QB Tommy Kramer of "a young Tommy Kramer"

Quarterback Tommy Kramer, who made his NFL debut for the Vikings when Fran Tarkenton broke a leg in a 42-10 victory over Cincinnati in 1977, watched on TV on Sunday night when Vikings QB Christian Ponder made his debut by replacing Donovan McNabb in a 39-10 loss at Chicago.

I said he reminded me of Tommy Kramer after watching his debut in preseason. Good to see Tommy agrees with that assessment.

Although, I was completely sober when I said it. :P

Well, I hope he ends up being a starter for a longer period of time and is known for more than just playing well the last 2 minutes of a half.

Was this "Tommy Kramer" good? I'm not that familiar with "old time" football.

Nice finish to a 450 yard game for him:

Still keeping his playing form intact even today:

That was awesome, the only memory I have of Tommy Kramer was the very end of his career when he would take a dive 5 seconds before the defender would get there.
