Vikings (1-2) at Jets (3-1)
Monday, 8:30 p.m.
Line: Jets by 4 1/2
The best thing about the Randy Moss trade was that it happened on Wednesday afternoon, limiting the amount of eardrum-rupturing hype generated by the move. With the “Moss returns to Minnesota,” “Brett Favre returns to New York,” and “Moss-meets-Favre” headlines, the “Moss versus Darrelle Revis II” angle is actually getting underplayed. An early prediction: Antonio Cromartie intercepts two passes, but no one even mentions him. Pick: Jets

Hey Z, what are your guys on the ground saying about Cooks knee?

That his availability for Monday's game against the New York Jets is unknown.

He went through the team's workout on Monday but was not on the field for any of practice Thursday.

The above came from the STrib. I listen to KFAN in the mornings, read the STrib every day (and watch their website during the day) and watch WCCO news every night. Add in various Vikings-related shows on FSN and other stations and the coverage is fairly thorough.

Well that sucks.
All in all, we still have Griff out there and the others played pretty damn good (without DL pressure) without him and Cook.

I kindof believe the Jets have about the same quality of a passing attack as the Aints this year.

Good OL for the Jets so I don't envision seeing an increase in the DL pressure area so I hope the backside keeps it up.

Well all this spells doom for the passing game the elbow problems will not go away They will stay consant what sucks was we were going to get to see Favre to Moss and Favre to Rice...I believe this will be the downfall of brett, he may now really become the NOODLE Marrdro so desperately wanted to see last year
Elbow tendanitis problems on your throwing arm = death sentence to a QB ...maybe Donavon comes in to save the day
I thought it was like christmas day wed morning when it was announced Moss to Minny but thursday during web press confrence I saw the ice wrapped elbow of brett I was uh oh, now Im crying in the cereal this morning knowing what could have been wont happen, who can Zygi get to throw for us now

This Cook thing kinda slipped under the radar due to the Moss thing. I hope he does not become injury prone. He has looked so good.

Cook and Gerheart have seen the field.

De'Geare I'm not sure about.. Webb isn't supposed to see the field for a long while....

I kindof hope we are starting to see a trend in that regard.

No team should have to rely on thier rooks as much as this team has since 2006.

Except for the fact that if Cook was healthy we would be relying on him because we are weak in the secondary and if Gerhart was sound he would be useful too with the loss of Taylor and no other quality back to replace him on the roster. It isn't like all of the rookies had insurmountable odds at beating someone out to get on the field. And we are 1-2 not undefeated and looking unbeatable at every position. ;)

I am not really worried about Cook's knee yet. But Favre's arm is a bit different. Depending upon how severe the tendonitis is, affects his ability to throw long down the field.

Well, it seems as though it is having an impact on his throwing. IMHO if he can't play without holding his elbow in pain we should sit him until it is healed.

Good points but I am of a different mind on the CT thing.

I kindof like that AD can be in there now and doesn't have to come out at much. Makes us less predictable IMHO. Besides, it wasn't that long ago teams featured only one back.

And our S has been playing pretty good this year without Cook especially when you consider how much help they haven't been getting with respect to pressure from our DL.
