Damn it now we only have the three healthy veterans.

2 weeks is all he will be out? Is that the same injury AD had?

Doesn't seem like we made a very good trade now.

I'm hoping we at least get Sullivan back in time for the 9th.

Yes ... he should be back and be in fine shape fairly quickly ... but with Griffin down, this definitely hurts and means that Allen and Sheppard need to be ready to go!

Seems like bad news happens every day around the Vikings camp. Lets hope Allen and Lito can hold down the fort. Cuts are coming too so someone might be available.

Gotta hate on the Chiller for having such rough training camps.

With Sharp out for the Aint's, gonna call this one a push.

Asher will just have to step up IMHO.

I agree that this is a tough one ... but with Sharp out ... they are really hurting back there as well.

I really think Allen may be ready, but I don't know about Lito.

Lord knows our 3 CBs are going to be on the field nearly every Saints offensive snap.

I could be worse and it's not like Cook is light years ahead of Lito and Asher. I just hate to slow down the development of such a promising guy.

Any word on Gerhart's knee?

Gerheart's knee!? What's up with that, I don't like the way things are starting out.

Lets hope we see a heavy does of AD the first 3 or 4 weeks. That will mean long, time consuming drives that eat up clock. More offense, less defense.

Gerheart practiced today so he should be back in the swing of things. Must have been a minor knee injury...probably a bruise or something.

Gerhart's knee was wrapped and iced just like Cook's was during Saturday's game.

As a side note, maybe the Vikes can trade Sage for a CB. Jets might need Sage, given the way Sanchez is playing... Sage and a 1st rounder for Revis :silly:

Perhaps you can explain for those what causal relationship you find between "rough training camps" and getting hurt while actually playing a game.

I think he is alluding to the fact that a rough camp will prepare you to get and hit better.

I gotta disagree, I think a rough camp only hurts your body which leaves you more likely to get hurt...i.e( a strain neck from tackling drills might make a tackler utilize poor form in bringing the wood and increase his chance of getting injuried)

The roller dome has eaten up many a knee in it's lifetime. Boy would it be nice to get a natural grass open top stadium for these guys to play in.

LOL

We should just about be ok with this, i like Asher and think he will be a good player, plus we have Lito there too. Between the two of them we should be ok till Cook gets back.

It's not ideal, but that's football.

Chris Cook possibly sidelined until Oct. 11

But after catching up with ESPN injury analyst Stephania Bell, I can tell you that four weeks is the generally accepted time period to recover from surgery to repair meniscus tears. Consider that an educated guess based on typical players. Applied to the Vikings' schedule, it means Cook might not be available until the Oct. 11 game at the New York Jets.

They did just get brand new field turf at the dome. Looks very forgiving. Saw a woman on the jets sideline walking in heels and the heel completely disapeared into the turf.

It doesn't appear as though it has fixed the knee wrecking tendency.

Me too. I was so looking forward to watching him play (and hopefully start) this week. Truth is, it's practically in the cards that we will have a couple of injuries to much more valuable players in the course of the season. I hate to say this (and I probably shouldn't) but I have this sick feeling in my stomach that Favre will get injured and end his career on the injury list. Please, please be wrong!!

Talking about getting sick of injuries. I even managed to get a painful injury when I sparred against the Norwegian Judo Champion four days ago. He broke my ribs. It sucks because I can't do anything in 3-6 weeks. :(

hmm.. you worked for the twins in 82, and its now 2010.

The turf is not the same. The Astroturf we had is gone, we've got fieldturf now. Known as the safest in the game. Better than grass.
