I was so surprised when they drafted PH first, but im so glad they did! Guess thats why I watch the games and dont help run the team.

He is showing every thing I thought he could bring but I admit I wasn't expecting him to adjust to being the receiver that he already is THIS fast.

The special teams part I expected.
I just don't believe a lot of fans wanted to admit how pathetic we have been there since Tice was fired.
Watching Hicks return kick offs was equal to watching Green Bay have Ahmad Green back there today.

While I haven't seen stat's for the other Rookies, I've got to say that he should be a strong candidate next week.
Cant' wait for the title of this thread to be changed to "Percy Harvin voted Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week Year.

I hope so, poor guy has major migraine issues and still plays to that level? I'd say give him the Nobel instead of chuckles the clown. Percy...America needs YOU.

LOL.
Still find it funny that we all......

a.
Believed a WR would never be taken in the first round.
b.
Doubted his physical prowess to the point select few thought he would be a bust.
c.
Found fault in him for being ill at a couple of "Pre-season" events.

Now, most of us quake when we hear that he might not play.
Pretty impressive for a rookie wouldn't you say?
;)

Its too bad the field was slick or he would have had another special teams TD.

To be honest Harvin is the best thus far

Wouldnt have gone wrong with Britt, Nicks or maclin tho

Great crop

Percy is going to get better and better, particularly as a WR.

I gravitate to Cris Carter's comments when asked on NFL Live before the season started, when he stated that "I've been helping Urban Meyer with scouting high school players for a few years, I've helped coach his wide receivers in the offseason, I've been around the SEC, and major college football for a few years.
Percy Harvin, no matter if it was high school, Pop Warner, college, scrimmage, in training, whatever.
When I have seen him, he has been the best player on the field."

Percy is a major reason the Vikes are 7-1.
MAJOR.

He will be rookie of the year at this pace...and, should be.

I know who thought we would go WR in the first round and I know who didn't doubt his physical prowess and I sure the hell know who hacked on him everytime he got sick.

Just way to hard to type in thier names.......

For this instance, the use of "We all" is a broad statement designed to take the high road and to allow the yutz's who didn't to own up to it.

1st in yds per touch, 19.8, 2nd is DeSean Jackson 18.2

T-1st in KO ret yds, 860 with Cribbs

Also has 3 TD's Receiving,

If he keeps up even close to these numbers he's got to be a lock for Off. Rookie of the year, Sanchez has taken himself out of the running, 8/10 TD to INT, 28/34 in QB rating 31/34 in Com. % 1st in fumbles among QB's

Just wanted to heap some more praise on our rookie

I admit my first choice was Nicks.. Then Harvin

And I didn't think he would make much of an impact outside of KRs this year

I felt the style of offense ran at Florida and all the running and what not wouldn't have him ready to come in and be an impact WR this year

I like the categorizations of everyone thinking a certain way when it was one to five people out of 8000 members.

I ripped on people for thinking some WR is going to be a complete sensation their rookie year and I will continue to do that.
Why?
Well, because in the decades and decades that I have followed the game there are very few exceptions to that rule.
I'm glad Harvin looks to be one of those exceptions.

I'm sure more than a few of the members here had visions of Reggie Bush, I did, Never being too confident of Florida WR's (Gaffney, Reche Caldwell, Travis Taylor,) But thankfully he's exceeded expectations, Ginn doesn't have half the yds of Percy.

Rookie of the year has to be Harvin right now. He is scoring consistently in the passing game. His returns have helped us so much (something we did not have at all last year). He has to be the front runner right now.

So far I must agree.
He's been hurtin as well and seems to be improving each week.
Last week he had a similar pass going across the middle and dropped it after a big hit, but this week he held on and all I could think was that he obviously was thinking about last week.
His kick returns have been phenomenal, something we surely have missed in years past.
He seems to be coming up big at all the right times and is only going to become more of a threat as he gets more work in the system.
He is one of the most exciting players in the league IMO.

Threat to score every time he touches the ball. Someone every team needs. Something we have two of: Harvin and AP

The field position we get certainly helps that 30+ points per game average.
Teams will start kicking out of bounds or sqibbing it to Robison
ala Devin Hester, and the Vikings will be starting at the 40 or better.
